    • Synopsis
    • Tomás Lipgot is much more than a documentary filmmaker: he is a portrayer of characters. Just like Renoir used to create volume in a flat face with a handful of brush strokes, here the director builds the image and his muse’s enigmatic fantasies through the camera’s framings and movements. Moacir III is the third audiovisual painting Lipgot dedicates to Brazilian singer Moacir Dos Santos, who is enjoying freedom after several years of living in the Borda psychiatric Hospital.
The film tenderly reflects the power behind three very different connections: the one of Moacir and his new life, the one of fiction and documentary, and the one between the portrayer and the portrayed. That huge emotional complicity between the main character and the director transcends the screen.
