- Synopsis
- 2012: The psychoanalyst Jacques-Alain Miller attempts, through e-mail exchanges, to have his colleague Mitra Kadivar released from a psychiatric hospital in Tehran. Through this gripping correspondence, the film gives an account of Mitra's struggle to be heard, and offers an operatic interpretation: the e-mails become a libretto, a composer endeavours to set it to music, making Mitra the tragic heroine of a documentary film-opera. The creative work is confronted with the reality of a psychiatric centre where the musicians and singers of the opera interact with the residents…
