    • Synopsis
    • "Miss USSR 2017" is a feature-length documentary film that takes us through the inner workings of a Beauty Pageant "Miss USSR UK" 2017 and gives an unprecedented access to the backstage of the show. Following contestants the film explores the hopes and dreams of young women from former Soviet Union countries as they compete for the title of the next Miss USSR UK.

According to the press-release of the show, "Miss USSR UK" is a unique international project, gathering together young women from former Soviet Union countries, world renowned public figures, A-list celebrities, top models, prominent brand names and various media sources. Yet, behind the glamor and fame that accompanies the pageant, there lies a more sobering portrait of young immigrant women who came from the post-Soviet countries to the UK in search of a better life.
