- Synopsis
- During Dien Bien, war was furious. A French soldier, Becna (Isaak Lee) was scared to death and decided to desert his side to join the Viet Minh. Bacna was arrested and taken to Vietminh's guerilla base. Against his will, Bao had to take Becna to the guerilla. On the way, Bacna was injured by a French soldier's plane, and May (Kieu Anh), a nurse was sent by the Viet Minh, took care of Bacna and helped Bao. Becna, during this long trip, discovered many things about Vietnamese's humanity and tolerance which he grew to admire and respect...and do anything to help them win.
  50 years on, Becna and Bao meet again, their friendship still the same. The memories of Dien Bien have always been beautiful, magnanimous and touching to each Vietnamese generation's heart.
