    • "Masks" is the story of Alen, a 15 year old stuttering teenager, who struggles to hide his true passion for the stage while appeasing his father's forceful demands of training for football greatness. Alen's father, a Bosnian immigrant, forces his shy son Alen to practice vigorously. Life takes a dramatic turn when Alen meets Viktor, an aging hippie and head of an eclectic theatre group working on so-called "invisible theatre" by Augusto Boal. Viktor takes this Austrian born teenager under his wing and exposes him to situational, and sometimes illegal, public theatre where the audience is not aware of the planned performance. In this classic coming of age tale, the struggle between old world ideas and breaking free from your parents comes to a standstill when Alen decides whether to chase his own desires or continue to wear the guilty mask that society imposes on him.
