After her mother’s death, Magali returns to her native town in the Argentine north. The threatening presence of a puma that eats the animals and appears in dreams. Magali’s approaches her son, together they will fulfill the family duty on which depends her own prosperity.

    • Synopsis
    • Magali (45) works as a medical assistant in a geriatric hospital in Buenos Aires. An unexpected call informs her that her mother died and that her son needs her. She travels to her native town, an arid landscape, of ocher and magical colors in the middle of the Argentine puna.
      She hardly knows Felix (10), an extramarital son from whom she fled, travelling to the city. How can Mother and son begin to relate. Magali receives the town’s affection to both her mother and herself. A puma prowls the area eating several animals, this worries the village.
      Elio, her stepbrother, returns from the high mountains with the llamas in an attempt to protect them from the feline. The encounter between them is cold and distant.
      Magali and Felix meet with Vicente, the child’s biological father. The community pressures her to take his mother’s place. A new attack on the cattle raises concerns. Elio instead takes the cattle to another place to protect it.
      Mother and son perform the family rite on the hill. The Puma moves away and they are united in the ritual.
