Synopsis
Kayes, in Mali, Africa. Two recruiters for young football players stop short on the corner of a street when they see the talent of small Michel, age ten. A little money and a contract whipped out of their briefcase, as if by some kind of magic, is enough to convince an old uncle to let them take the kid away, as they have to return to France immediately. When she returns, the grandmother, who is very attached to this child whom she raised, is furious. Madam Bâ, a schoolteacher who has reached the position of inspector for the Department of Education, has fought all her life to teach her children how to love and be close to their roots and their country. She totally disapproves that a child of his age be alone in France and decides to do everything in her power to get him back.
