    • Synopsis
    • Two psychiatric doctors and a concerned parent each bring a troubled young adult to a remote Scottish castle retreat for a weekend of casual
group therapy. The weekend is organised by psychologists Jim and Donald who have brought
along their star patients Ben and Edward.
Edward has severe schizophrenia in which he believes that a demon controls him. Ben claims to see the future and has intricate memories of previous full of violent behaviour. Both are diagnosed schizophrenics being treated with a new drug, Alchetine Six, which has drawn superb results.
A third pair; Anne, an old friend of Jim’s, and her daughter Émilie join them. Émilie is an introvert with severe post traumatic stress disorder, brought on by mild schizophrenia and the loss of her father nine years ago. Anne is desperate for the promise offered by Alchetine Six as Émilie has barely spoken a word to anyone since, except her dead father who she talks with regularly.
The drug is the true reason for the weekend, it has incredible potential as a miracle cure and Donald is keen to see it in the marketplace. Whether his motives are ethical or financial the weekend ahead will reveal.
Group therapy begins with Ben and Edward testing the boundaries, the doctors and each other whilst Émilie remains reclusive. As the sessions continue over the weekend tensions build and we are drawn into the worlds of Ben, Edward and Émilie through their own warped POVs. Edward shuts himself away with his demons goading a growing paranoia, Émilie finds solace in her dead father and Ben makes seemingly random preparations for events he has foreseen.
Meanwhile Donald is distracted convincing Jim of Alchetine Six’s potential whilst Jim is focused on Anne and the possibility that Émilie is his daughter. As tensions rise to climax the unsettling visions of demons, flashes of torment and writhing shadows converge with the dark motives that surround Alchetine Six as a storm front moves in, bringing down phone and power lines and leaving the castle completely isolated in the foreboding Scottish landscape.
The discovery of their mobile phones destroyed and hidden in Edward’s room sparks the final third; Edward suffers a total breakdown, convinced he must kill the others before they kill him. Seeing his wonder drug slip away Donald turns on Ben as the cause, but Ben’s visions have prepared him and as things turn violent his erratic preparations come into focus. He takes the knife he set in place ready for this precise moment, dispatches Donald and sets out to hunt down the rest…
