    • The documentary tells the history of the Lira Paulistana theater (1979-1986), a cultural venue located in São Paulo, Brazil, where a musical style called “Vanguarda Paulista” was born. Riba de Castro, who is one of the founding partners of Lira Paulistana, recounts its history through interviews and archive footage of live concerts.
      In the 1980’s the military dictatorship was ending. The country was in a period of big cultural activity increase. During 6 years, Lira Paulistana became a cultural phonomenon, the catalyst of avant-garde musical trends that lead a lot of young creative artists to success.
      The film tells also about the importance of Lira Paulistana as a centre to independent cultural production not only in music, but also in theater, literature and arts.
