- Synopsis
- Michele is a stray reflection of light and people try to shield themselves from him. He isn't liked, he awakens no sense of empathy in others, in fact he makes no effort at all to be pleasant and doesn't care who he disturbs or annoys. He is himself, perhaps a kind of litmus test for a concentrate of humankind that no one wishes to observe? However it is, there he is, living in isolation on account of his difficult past, in his "favela", where he spends most of his time spying through his binoculars on humanoids, like a safari trip in reverse. The "favela" is his last chance of salvation, it is a place of penitence, a purgatory that both keeps him alive and at the same time threatens to finish him off any day. Michele's loneliness and his inability to seek out the company of others are a life sentence that he can't manage to escape. In spite of all this he too is in search of love, maybe with the other inhabitants of the woodlands or maybe by looking through the personal ads in the newspaper. He often immerses himself in the unspoilt beauty of the surrounding woods, seeking out a connection, he wishes to merge himself with the trees, the grass to the point of disappearing or being transformed into something different, anything but a man.
