    • Synopsis
    • Latente sets up a current controversy utilizing images taken in 1865, when Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay were allied in a war against Paraguay that killed eighty percent of its population. It is the story of an intellectual who quits his routine to question the use of these photos in particular and the manipulation of war images in general, a reflection surrounding a hidden tragedy of Latin American history, and an ethical conflict that remains until today: the tension between historic reality and its visual representation.
