- What does it mean to live in a cutthroat society? South Korea is one of the fastest developing countries in the world: global brands such as Samsung, Hyundai and LG, excellent education, the fastest Internet, and powerful cinematography and music sector. However, such success comes at a price: Koreans complain about stress, insomnia and burnout. They drink more alcohol than Russians and their fertility rate is the lowest in the world.
