    • Waking up beside her family in a single room in southeastern Turkey, she sings to rap videos and cuts her friends’ hair in emo, or pop-punk, style.
      Her earnings pay her brother's university expenses - she gets nothing.
      His fierce objection to her wrestling scares her even as her success begins to change his outlook. Neither he nor her parents have seen her wrestle. She is tempted to join bigger wrestling clubs 25 hours from home. But breaking her coach's heart is breaking her own.
      If Evin wins an international medal, the state guarantees her a teaching career. Through heart-wrenching losses and comebacks at the European and World Championships, she must discover new strength to reach the podium.
      Back home in Siirt, rapes are covered up and guerrilla attacks multiply, killing one of her female coaches. Evin plans to settle there one day, where she remains unknown. She hopes to change that. She hopes to change Siirt.
