- Synopsis
- Japam, 55 years old, still lives at his mother's house. Silence is his fellow traveller and alcohol his refuge. Introduced to cinema by his old friend he will become assistant director.During his search for locations trough south India's countrysides, he will meet an 18 years old girl. In spite of his communist opinions, he will accompany the girl to the temple of the Goddess of the Arts in order to offer her mother's jewels. An intimate relationship will be born during this travel.
  JAPAM : a Sanskrit word which indicates the recitation of a mantra by "the internal voice". Japam is a means of getting in touch with one’s own self.

  Japam, 55 ans, habite toujours chez sa mère. Le silence est son compagnon de route et l'alcool son refuge. Initié au cinéma par son vieil ami Varkey, il deviendra l'assistant d'une réalisatrice. Au cours des repérages à travers la campagne du Kerala (Inde du Sud), il rencontrera une jeune fille de 18 ans. Malgré ses opinions communistes, il l’accompagnera au Temple de la Déesse des Arts. Une relation intime naîtra de ce voyage.
  JAPAM : mot Sanscrit qui désigne la récitation par « la voix intérieure » d’un mantra. Japam est un moyen d’entrer en contact avec soi même.
