    • Synopsis
    • This film is based on a true story. MAGDA and GRZEGORZ have been wanting a child for years. To make this dream happen, they travel to India where a surrogate is about to give birth to their twins. On the day their children are born, Magda discovers that Grzegorz has not been faithful in the past. Hurt by her discovery, she tells Grzegorz that she will file for divorce upon their return to Poland. Despite his pleads, Magda cannot find it in herself to forgive him.
Right before their return to Poland, the laws concerning children birthed by surrogates in India changes. Their children, birthed by a Hindu surrogate, have neither Polish nor Indian citizenship. The twins cannot be taken to Poland. This forces Grzegorz and Magda to stay in India with no knowledge of the culture and no money. In order to survive, they leave the expensive city of Mumbai and travel south where life is cheaper. During their travels they make friends with a taxi driver named KAPADI, who becomes their mentor and friend, and helps them survive. It’s also thanks to Kapadi’s dark past in the world of Indian organized crime that makes their return to Poland possible.
As they are about to board their flight to Europe a few days later, Grzegorz is arrested by the border police. We find out that the price of getting passports for their newborn children was a steep one - Grzegorz agreed to smuggle drugs for the Indian mob. Magda leaves for Poland with the children.
Grzegorz is sentenced to five years in an Indian prison. Magda visits him after a few months. Grzegorz cannot help but tells her how much he misses her and their children. Magda forgives him. She’ll be waiting.
