Between noir and Melo a road movie that has the tones of a modern black fable. SALVO, a rough-lived-looking 45-year-old man and LEA (30) of dazzling beauty but melancholy, travel in the night in a refrigerated truck surrounded by stony and dark nature. They have a mysterious destination as the cargo they carry. But for Salvo and Lea, that trip is not a journey like any other but is an opportunity to discuss their relationship abruptly interrupted years before and is the need to go further or perhaps try again. Suspended between the nostalgia of a past that made them happy and a present that fluctuates between rancour and desire for love, Salvo and Lea are travelling tirelessly, in a night that seems endless. But when he reveals the reason for that crazy journey and the mysterious cargo they carry, the body of an unnamed migrant who Salvo wants to give back to his wife unaware of her husband's fate, the relationship between Salvo and Lea becomes increasingly ambiguous, enigmatic and dark. Until the final dramatic revelation: Lea died two years earlier in an accident at sea and the body was never found. Lea exists only in the mind of Salvo, unable to process his mourning. Thus the journey, modern odyssey, is Salvo’s atonement. That trip forces him to confront his refusal to accept his wife's death. His mission is a specular journey: to give burial to the migrant is to give burial to his missing wife, finally realizing his mourning. But the way will not be easy, his unconscious will fight against him, making re-emerge the ghosts of the past which Salvo, unavoidably, will have to face.
