- Synopsis
- According to Mexican legend, whenever a bridge is built the devil asks for one soul, in exchange for keeping the bridge standing. Showcasing the jokes, curses and philosophizing of a little-seen underclass, this film chronicles the daily lives of the workers building a second deck to Mexico City's Periferico freeway - their hopes, dreams and struggle for survival. Shot in a very original and personal style, "In the pit" is a skilful work on images and sound which compose through a kaleidoscopic puzzle an impressive and poetic urban symphony
