    • Synopsis
    • This piece was created for exhibition at 'poARTry', at Newhampton Art Centre, Wolverhampton, UK. The exhibition randomly pairs poets and artists and gives them a limited amount of time to create two collaborative pieces, one that is a piece of art inspired by an existing poem, and the other a poem inspired by an existing piece of art. 'I Am Tree' is a poem inspired by an existing audio visual piece.

Sounds were captured with contact mics attached to a tree. Creaking in the wind and other environmental sounds were captured and then processed further. The visuals were captured on a Canon mirrorless camera using a vintage manual focus Auto Chinon 55mm F1.4 lens, allowing a very shallow depth of field.
Words were written by Liz Mills in response to the audio/visual by Jonathon Watkiss.
