Synopsis
“House of Writers”” [1945-1996] is a documentary about the life of Polish intellectuals, gathered together after the war under one roof of a tenement house in Krakow at ul. Krupnicza 22, during the period of the bleak PRL. The film tells the story of this house and the fate of its inhabitants – writers [Gałczyński, Kisielewski, Poświatowska, Szymborska, Różewicz, Mrożek], tossed by the winds of history and divided, as only Poles can be divided, yet living with worthily under one roof.
