    • Synopsis
    • For many years the little alpine village of Ruetlikon has lived well off the revenue of German crooner RONNY BLUM, who has kept a small flat there as a tax dodge. But now that Ronny has succumbed to drink, fallen out of favor with the audience and scored no bankable hits for some time the village is in danger of insolvency, which would lead to its incorporation into its unloved neighboring community.
Not if KÖBI, Ruetlikon's resourceful mayor, can help it. He enlists two energetic citizens to help him abduct Ronny from the Babylon of Berlin and drag him to Switzerland's idyllic mountains in order to cure him and prepare him for his comeback.
Once they have gotten past some initial hiccups Ronny begins to appreciate the trouble that his "true" neighbors have gone to on his behalf and feels indebted to them. But his depression proves to be more pervasive than he thought; Ronny has lost his knack for writing hits.
Soon, however, he realizes: It takes a village to write the "Song for Ruetlikon"...
