    • Synopsis
    • In an isolated cabin in the woods, we learn the story of a hermit through a recording left on a magnetic tape. The man recounts that he has been abandoned by his wife, his only remaining link to civilization, following the murder of her imaginary lover. Alone and remorseful, the man witnesses several supernatural apparitions of a religious nature: the water in the lake where he hid the victim's body catches fire, an owl he tries to shoot does not die and, finally, an infernal's roar coming from the forest calls him in the middle of the night. When he arrives at the source of the sound, he meets a white horse, which gives him a vision that takes him to the thresholds of hell. But contrary to his expectations, his final destination is an immense, blinding void. Faced with this vision, the hermit admits that he has only told his version of the story concerning the murder, but without confessing anything openly. In the finale, the cabin is on fire, while the tape continues its cycle, ending with the man's voice reading a prophetic quote from an ancient book, which explains that the real hell is the one we create ourselves. As the tape deteriorates due to the flames, the infernal roar of the horse echoes from the forest.
