    • Following a violent fall when she was a child, Mary is paraplegic. She lives alone with Lydie, her older sister, who always felt responsible for this accident, working hard and doing a lot of sacrifices to make ends meet and to take care of Mary. For his part, Alec, who suffered from parents pressure for too long, starts to break up. He can’t stand the burden of wealth, education and business career anymore. Alec and Mary’s fates meet on a road, a winter evening, when he decided to rebel while the young woman attempted suicide.

He dreams of something else, she expects nothing of life. She is suspicious, he wants to help her. He is young, she lived the worst. Strong, passionnate and sincere love is born between them. However, it is not easy to love in a society that assigns everybody a well-defined role and place. Is it only allowed...? Lydia fails to manage everything and starts worrying about Mary. Alec’s parents are ready to do absolutely everything to put their son in what is for them the right way. This is by fighting for this love for Alec, that Mary overcomes all her limits: her lack of confidence, reserve, loneliness, despair, fears... Little by little, thanks to her boyfriend, she becomes a blooming, feminine, smiling, and professionally and sexually accomplished woman. She even manages to face a truth which haunts her for a long time: her parents abandoned her. She integrates into society and asserts herself as a full-fledged person, which allows Alec to become a mature and responsible man. He slowly recovers a liking for work and finds compromises with his father.
Everything changes during a professional trip to Bangkok. While the two lovers and Alec's father involve in this trip, the young man is faced with a terrible choice: his career or Mary. Concerned about his future, Mary gives in to Alec's father blackmail. If she wants to keep her job and financially relieve Lydie, she must let Alec live his life. Very sad, she encouraged him to sign a big contract offering him a permanent position in Bangkok, but finally left him to the young man disappointment.
Mary returns home and finds that Alec's father didn’t keep his promises. Back to square one. She lets herself go to despair. Meanwhile, Alec understands that his father has just engineered everything. Very angry, he returns home to settle accounts, stop relationship with his parents, but above all, to find Mary. Fortunately, he arrives in time to save her from a second suicide attempt.
