GRIFFIN THE DRAGON lived with his parents EDMOND and SIMONE during the middle ages. The family’s origins were in both Western and Eastern districts, traveling among rainbows and coexisting with humans as well as other animals.
A compassionate, dutiful son Griffin helped in his father’s workshop. One project was to build a device for the evil Y WIZARD Y who commissioned talented scientist Edmond to construct a machine for obscure purposes. The two labored diligently on the machine which the wizard promised would help mankind and all creatures. However, Griffin was leery and a clever discovery revealed true intentions. Unknown to the dragon father-son team, the device was meant for destruction! His instinct was correct and he confronted the wizard.
In response to his disloyalty, the wizard uses his new-found powers with the TREYBUCK machine against the Griffin’s family. A massive destructive IMPLOSION occurred within the dragon’s household causing them to vanish. Y Wizard Y is under the assumption that he terminated the family, however they have been transported into the future!
Griffin and his family arrive onto the Island of California in the 25th century. Fourth grade friends CATTAILS, JACKSON and ALEXANDER are on a deep forest nature HIKE adventure when Griffin’s family appears. They are initially startled, however they soon realize that the Dragon family is harmless and in fact Griffin is very cool, compassionate and smart. The kids are instrumental in the family’s comfortable entry to the new world.
Fast forward several months later, as Griffin begins his first day of school. He is the uncomfortable new kid, unsure, and physically is much bigger than others his age. There are several initial encounters with his surroundings which cause disruptions: ‘bull in a china closet type action.’
Feeling upset and rejected, Griffin abruptly leaves school. He dreams of being back home with past friends; he hates it here. Edmond and Simone try to console him. Sensing his pain, Cattails, Jackson and Alexandra constantly reassure him. Additionally, the three new friends vow to find a way for Griffin to return back home or to enjoy the wonders of his new life!
Meanwhile, the evil wizard attempts to reproduce the Medieval implosion and destroy more creatures, however his plan backfires and he is also transported to the 23th century. After several weeks in the new world, he consorts with other modern-era wizards in an effort to reproduce the travel mechanisms; however this version of the Treybuck is imprecise in the futuristic world.
As Griffin navigates the exciting new land, we see flashbacks on good times in Medieval settings with friends; intermixed are images of difficult events with wizards and some humans. Griffin vividly elaborates on these memories. Meanwhile the compassionate, wise and clever Griffin gives much needed help to his new associates. He helps with difficult times, with bullies, on adventures, with learning, and providing good advice at every turn.
The task of returning Griffin home is going to be hard! One key to getting back is stealing the wizard’s mechanical devices. The four friends must duck, maneuver, and dodge the evil newcomer with each attempt. Another extremely important part will be to tap into Griffin’s secret power.
