    • Synopsis
    • A small town in central Bohemia. A small local car repair shop. Clean and orderly. They even have computer diagnostics. Its owner, Tomáš, runs the shop together with his brothers Eda and Vojta. One day, the youngest of them, Vojta, learns that he has won a contest. The prize: tickets to go see the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Spain.
The three brothers decide to travel together. They fill a car with everything they will need for the journey and set out. The trip to the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona will take about three days. First they will have to make it through Germany and France, then they’ll have to find their way through Spain.
Three days: plenty of time for the three brothers to have in-depth conversations, talk things over, and (perhaps) to finally get to know one another.
In reality, the three will have to deal with purely practical issues on their journey to the Grand Prix and on their road to self-discovery and coming to terms (?) with their lives. None of them knows a foreign language. Their Czech-English dictionary proves worthless, since the people they encounter on their travels are their equals – gas station attendants, mechanics, shepherds, prostitutes, policemen – all of whom either speak no foreign language or are too proud to do so (France). They’ll have to make do with their personal limitations and provincialism, which they either desperately try to hide or which they provocatively and proudly put on display for all to see. They’ll have to make do with each other, jammed into the confined spaces of their car.
