    • Synopsis
    • In October 2005 Reverend Ernst Sieber, 78, Swiss, pioneer in the field of work with the homeless, travels to Afghanistan with a few boxes of medicaments. His mission: to provide direct help for the hospital of Jaghatu and for the orphans in the village. Reverend Sieber in the land of the Taliban: a suggestive image that is both intriguing and irritating.
Is it a coincidence or an inevitability that the charismatic pastor finds a new field of activity here? What connects the radical Christian with the deeply religious Pashtun people? Who is this man, who has been taking care of the “human trash” (Neue Zürcher Zeitung 1966) for several decades? The film takes the audience on an adventurous journey into deepest Afghanistan and takes the encounters in the village of Jaghatu as an opportunity to communicate the pastor’s work on behalf of the homeless, Hells Angels and junkies. A film about the dream and work of a servant of God in the 21st century.
