    • Synopsis
    • Ben and Adam are two young struggling actors and close friends, they are determined to make it in show business. Despite the endless auditions and obstacles they encounter, they resort to being rent boys to make ends meet and give them the freedom to be available for acting opportunities.
They have a very dependable relationship and do a lot together and for each other, they fight together to find a way to break into acting and make a career out of it. On their road to success an opportunity arrives from Larry their pimp, he offers Ben and Adam to be part of a cabaret show in his club where he also performs as a host. Ben has his doubts but both agree to perform there as drag queens. The show becomes a success and Ben and Adam become well known in the underground theatre industry, living it up with parties where Ben has flings with a few women despite also having a girlfriend. Adam gets annoyed and angry with Ben over his girlfriends; it becomes apparent that Adam is jealous of these women and has strong feelings for him. Ben however is not interested in Adam that way and makes it clear they can only be friends and nothing more.
A producer, Peter, offers to produce a script for a play that Ben is developing even though Ben evaded Peter’s sexual insinuations in an earlier meeting. Peter’s production company is interested in it but they only want Ben in the play, not Adam. Ben agrees with those terms even though the story is based in true events about the lives of Adam and him. Adam helped him to meet Peter through a contact, Jodie, a journalist who Ben then slept with. Ben leaves their drag act to perform in his new show; Adam is disappointed and hurt but still pleased for Ben. Ben’s show becomes a big success and he gets caught up in his new showbiz life drifting away from Adam and his old friends.
This affects Adam in a bad way, he feels abandoned by Ben so turn to hard drugs and drink to deal with it which badly affects his performance in the show and Larry has to sack him. Adam goes back on the game that he and Ben had given up for the cabaret show but this time on his own, not with selected clients but with anybody. Ben learns from Jodie that Adam is in a bad way so he fights to get a part for Adam on his show.
Ben goes to see Adam after a long time but on his way he gets a call from Adam who sounds upset on the phone. Ben tries to tell him the good news but to no avail as Adam is not listening, Adam sounds suicidal and hangs up. Ben races to Adam’s place but he gets there too late. Adam has overdosed and died. Ben is grief stricken and remorseful and apologises to Adam.
