    • Synopsis
    • Sixteen-year-old Lauren has always known she was adopted but knows nothing of her birth parents. Her adoptive parents are strangely reluctant to answer her questions and even tell Lauren some outright untruths. Then, when some Internet research turns up the possibility that she was snatched from an American family as a baby, suddenly nothing in her life makes sense any more.

How can Lauren find her biological parents? Why did her parents lie to her about never having been to the US? Can they somehow be involved in the kidnapping?

Lauren and her best friend, Jam, decide to run away together whilst on a school trip to New York, determined to unravel the mystery of Lauren’s past. But the circumstances of her disappearance are murky and Lauren's kidnapper, Sonia Holtwood, is still at large and willing to do anything to keep Lauren silent. She abducts Lauren and Jam and abandons them in a snowy wilderness leaving them to die. She murders her partner-in-crime, Bede Tarsen, in order to stop him from talking. And she constantly changes her appearance in order to stay one step ahead of FBI agent, Jack Petrowski.

Lauren discovers her whole life has been built on a web of lies and even when she is finally re-united with birth parents, Annie and Sam Purditt, there is still no happy-ever-after ending. The Purditts it seems have secrets too. Secrets from the past, linking them to Sonia Holtwood. But who exactly IS Sonia Holtwood? Who can Lauren trust? And will she ever find out her real identity?

“Girl Missing” is a nail-biting, edge of the seat thriller, but with real emotional heart, a gutsy heroine and a thrilling and surprising climax.
