    • Synopsis
    • Elena is a 23 year old woman, working on her masters in Social Work. She is plagued by the fact that all her friends from high school seem to be making lots of money in their careers, meanwhile she is working at a coffee shop and sharing an apartment with a girl she met on Craigslist. Rebeckah (aka Becky), her former friend who she grew apart from is visiting town for 2 weeks. Becky is rich because her mom re-married into money and now boasts a rich step-dad. Now Elena, who still has student loans and can’t afford to, finds the need to pretend to be rich and keep up appearances. Serendipitously, she gets a job house sitting for a rich family in her town, and she uses the opportunity to essentially borrow their lives; she posts pictures from their family holidays and presents them as her own on social media, she wears the wife’s clothes. Rebeckah then suggests that they throw a party. The owners of the house come back, and Elena has to convince them to play along as the landlords just coming to pick something up. In the end, Rebeckah winds up caught. In a surprising plot twister, it turns out that Becky has also been pretending to be rich. Her mom and step-dad divorced, and she has been merely keeping up the charade out of pride
