- Peter works in Virtual Reality, crash testing the safety of a new breed of intelligent car that drives itself.
  A colleague introduces him to virtual reality pornography, and Peter, who can resist anything except temptation, is drawn into a world where he can explore any fantasy without being unfaithful to his wife.
  He must keep his activities secret from his female boss, Tess. But his desperation to be promoted and the pressure of work lead him to use violent sex as a way of relieving stress. Moreover, he finds violent sex with a virtual version of Tess, V-Tess, the most satisfying of all.
  Can he stop himself destroying all that is precious in his life for a woman who doesn't even exist? And how can a woman who doesn't even exist be so implicit in his murder?
