- Synopsis
- In 1983, Gega, was 22 years old. Very handsome actor, was easily attracting girls’ attention. He was romantic idealist and favorite of his generation. He was playing one of the main roles in the film “Repentance”.
  Tina, very young and beautiful, 19 years old, was studying at academy of arts, annoyed by the attention of boys. Some were meeting her on stairs, reading poems to her, some were singing under her window. One handicapped guy was calling him every day, asking for meeting. Tina was refusing for a long, but finally, not to break his heart forever she agreed. This handicapped guy appeared to be Gega.
  They were spending all time together in friends company, listening to Jazz and reading foreign literature, though it was forbidden. They even dared to wear jeans and read Bible. Friends often were meeting each other in Father Theodor’s house, who was elder and knew much about religion and life.
  After several months, in November 1983, Tina and Gega decided to get married. On the wedding everybody was celebrating their union. Next day married couple, together with friends decides to fly to Batumi, sea side city in Georgia, on the very border of Turkey.
  The plane was hijacked by their group. They were forcing pilots with the gun to fly to Turkey. After several minutes plane was landed back to Tbilisi and was surrounded by army, who were shooting towards the plane. During attack, one of group members killed himself, another was killed and two pilots and flight attendant were dead. Whole group was arrested.
  Tina was pregnant but in prison was aborted by force. The group had no other plan in case if their dream, to escape from country, could fail. They were shocked and terrified. It took the officials nine months to make decision how to present this story to public. In August five remaining friends together with father Theodor, who was considered to be the organizer were in court, which lasted only two weeks and sentenced them all to death, except Tina, who was sentenced to 15 year of jail. Process was being broadcast every day. Some considered them terrorists, some - dreamers and were supporting them in their heart. Representatives of society were signing petition to let them stay alive.
  Families were waiting for them, according to rumors they were in secret zone and one day they could return.
  After five years Soviet Union collapsed, Tina became free and truth was revealed that others were killed after three months from court.
