"Life Itself" is the story of one long weekend in the life of Ruth and Alex Cohen, an elderly New York couple hoping to sell their East Village apartment of 40 years. Ruth is a retired teacher and Alex is an artist. As they prepare for an open house, New York City is on alert because a gasoline truck is “stuck” in the Midtown tunnel and the driver has fled. The real estate market responds to the chaos resulting in a huge bidding war on their apartment. Ruth and Alex make an offer on a new apartment and look back on years of memories in their home.
