- A female college student who dreams of becoming a TV announcer walks out of a job interview, goes to her father’s workplace, and stabs him to death.
  “Figure out my motive yourself.” Those defiant words from the beautiful suspect, Kanna Hijiriyama, send the media into a frenzy. Certified psychologist Yuki Makabe is asked to write a book about Kanna, whose ever-changing testimony poses a daunting challenge, but the two continue to meet and exchange letters. Yuki goes even further by investigating Kanna’s acquaintances, and eventually begins to sense similarities between the girl’s circumstances and her own past. What’s more, this leads Yuki to confront certain memories that she has kept suppressed deep within herself. Why did Kanna feel she had no other choice but to kill her own father? And is the real culprit actually someone else? When the truth behind the incident comes to light, a shocking climax awaits that could never be deduced from the sweet-sounding title...
