Six-year-old Bram thinks a lot about the world around him. He is thrilled to go to grade 7. But then he joins the class of Mr. Fish, a very strict teacher. The old-fashioned Mr. Fish does not consider what goes on inside the head of the always fidgeting and unfocused little fellow. He tries to change Bram and make him fit in with the others, whatever it takes. Hence the issue that Bram’s parents face is to what extent they should ask their son to adapt without becoming terribly unhappy.
