    • Synopsis
    • EUROPA REPORT is a science fiction adventure that follows a contemporary manned mission to Jupiter's moon, Europa - the place thought by scientists to hold the greatest probability for alien life in our solar system. When unmanned probes suggest that a hidden ocean exists underneath the icy surface of the moon and could contain single-celled life, an international crew of six embark on a privately funded mission to the edges of our solar system to confirm the data and explore the truly revolutionary scientific discoveries that lie in the Europan ocean. The long and arduous journey tests the psychological and physical limits of the crew as they travel further into the depths of space. As conditions on the ship are about to reach the breaking point, the crew finally
touches down on the surface of the moon - the first human visitors to an alien world. After confirming the existence of the sub-surface ocean and taking in the ethereal beauty of the Europan surface, the crew sets to work collecting data and analyzing their findings. But they are soon faced with mysterious attacks on the outside of the ship. As the unknown threat to the crew intensifies, they are forced to weigh the importance of scientific discovery against the value of their own lives, and discover that terrors lie beneath the ice they could never have imagined. By incorporating real world scientific research, ship design and mission planning, the film presents an authentic vision of what the next step in human exploration will look and feel like, putting the audience inside the ship with our international crew. Through the perspective of the astronauts, the audience will experience space as it truly is and marvel at the beauty, the vastness, and the unknown. Sebastian Cordero (Cronicas) directs an international cast let by Sharlto Copley (District 9), Michael Nyqvist (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo), Anamaria Marinca (4 Months, 3 Weeks, 2 Days), Christian Camargo (The Hurt Locker), Daniel Wu (Overheard) and Karolna Wydra (Crazy, Stupid, Love). Enrique Chediak (127 Hours, 28 Weeks Later) is Director of Photography and Eugenio Caballero (Pan's Labyrinth, Resident Evil) is Production Designer. The ship will have elements of the SpaceX, Russian and NASA technologies consistent with the public/private partnerships that represent the future of manned space travel.
