- Following Aníbal’s violent, irrational suicide at the age of 60, his eldest son Pedro (35) returns to the town of his childhood; a weird group of wellings,
  small farms, woods and sand dunes by the sea, where his mother Socorro (55), and his sister Mariana (30), still live. Passions, myths, various forces of different eras flow there; angels, demons and family spectres return metamorphosed into an unworldly fauna. There are many more things in heaven and earth than those we can perceive or understand. Escafandra is a science fiction, erotical and horror story, essentially Argentinian but with universal resonances; an all-encompassing audiovisual experience that uses instinct, imagination, dreams and reason; the present, past and future; spaces, characters, myths and natural manifestations, strangely connected with one another and which usher the viewer into the unknown and the invisible.
