    • Synopsis
    • Though relatively young, Emerson is already a relic; a generation X-er clinging to relevance in the millennial era. He is a nostalgic for the 20th Century, a time before Facebook, and iPhones and uber, especially uber. And his worldview, insensitively expressed and riddled with blindspots though it may be, is usually one whith which we agree, because at his core Emerson is right-headed, well-intentioned and his positions, though extreme, are morally sound.

Emerson´s sense of humor, impropriety and the show´s subversive social commentary will be hallmarks of the series, the broader aim of which is to cut through the veil of political correctness and societal etiquette, or as Emerson would call it, "the bull shit", and get right at the heart of matters both timely and timeless.

Emerson´s fares, his clients, will serve as entry-points into myriad themes and topics and are key to the show pivoting quickly and effortlessly between topics and characters. Also key is Emerson, specifically his knack for inserting himself into other people´s business and his inability to overlook injustices no matter how insignificant.

in the strictest sense, the series will be procedural, exploring themes and storylines within closed-ended episodes, but episodically we will break convention, adopting story structures best-suited for the specific narrative and theme of the week.

Each episode will tackle a single theme, for instance, the pilot "Good People", dissects integrity and respect from various perspectives. The A-story will always follow Emerson, the passengers he picks up, and a small ensemble of friends and coworkers. The B-Story will always be tied thematically but not necessarily narratively to the A-story, and will introduce a variety of Angelinians who riff on the episolde´s central theme a la Rosencrantz and Guildenstern.
