Tensions between religious and seculars is at its height.
Fourteen-year-old Ahmet, an upper middle-class boy, is devastated when his father sends him to a religious boarding school. For his recently converted father, it is a path to redemption and purity. For Ahmet, it's a living nightmare. During the day, he attends a secular and nationalist college, while at night and on weekends, he returns to the overcrowded dormitory, the long hours of study and the vexations. But through his friendship with Hakan, an older boarder from a poor family, Ahmet challenges the strict rules of a system that, whatever religious or secular, only aims at brainwashing youth.
