A brother and sister, Parisa and Mehdi, have moved north from Tehran to return Parisa's dowry, which was brought by her husband Hamid to his cousin's villa in the north. Parisa and Hamid have been divorced for six months. Parisa has the right to vacate the dowry by the court. Hamid wants to re-enter Parisa's life and marry her, but on the other hand, he is willing to do anything for her two-year-old daughter, Shadi. A woman named Azadeh, who is Hamid's second wife, is in the villa, and they have started a partnership with Bijan, Hamid's cousin, and Hamid himself, to build a hotel apartment which Azadeh owns its land. Azadeh is aborting her two-month-old baby, but she is lying and pretends feeling sick. There are conflicts among Mehdi and Parisa and Hamid. Hamid prevents the dowry from being taken and threatens Parisa with revealing her personal issues. Parisa is afraid of Hamid and refuses to take the dowry. Azadeh, noticing Hamid's renewed interest in Parisa, announces that she has not aborted her child and leaves the house, breaking up her partnership with Bijan and Hamid. Mehdi returns to Tehran alone.
