1976. As opposed to the rest of the planet, shy young newyorker Duane Lewis is
strangely affected by a new type of rhythmic music suddenly crowding the airwaves,
      disco.
At first nervous and disturbed, he suddenly loses control when this particular type of
music triggers a homicidal state from which he comes out amnesiac, his hands covered
      in blood …
Duane Lewis is confronted for the first time to his "discopathy" when a young woman
takes him to a disco for the first time. Coming back to his senses the following morning,
he remembers in horror that he is responsible for his date's murder under the flashing
illuminated dance floor of a famous disco. He flees New York City in a panic
A flashback in his memories will show that his condition is caused by the major
childhood trauma of witnessing his father, a composer, and his mother being fatally
electrocuted while dancing on the very first primitive "disco” music in 1966.
Three years pass. Now living in Montreal under another identity, Duane Lewis appears
to lead a quiet existence as a technician in a French Canadian private girl school. Aware
of his particularly murderous alternate state, he pretends to be deaf/mute and wears a
hearing device that blocks out any sounds that might trigger his madness. But he soon
relapses definitely into his "discopathy", slaughtering two students and abducting their
      teacher.
Intrigued by similarities between these two Canadian murders and the unsolved one
from three years before, jaded American inspector Paul Stephens joins the French
Canadian detectives Sirois and Chartrand for the manhunt. Together, they shed light on
a string of unsolved disco-related homicides
Days go by and wanted murderer Duane Lewis is nowhere to be found. But, holed up in
a secret room deep beneath the school, he painfully reaches the peak of his mental
disorder and becomes the "discopath" full time. Tormenting his victim with an electrifying
reenactment of his parents death, he finally exits the school in an explosive murderous
      spree.
Duane Lewis is then seen in the crowd of a live disco television show and makes
another victim before Stephens, Sirois and Chartrand reach the disco.
Lurking at his victims funeral dressed up as a nun, the discopath then crashes the
funeral procession in his stolen station wagon. One of the hearses flips over, the casket
scattering on the road. Horrifically, the lifeless body of a girl rolls on the asphalt as the
police start chasing Duane Lewis on foot.
The chase ends on the roof of a 10-story building, where Duane Lewis, under police
ultimatum, deliberately lets himself fall of.
