    • Synopsis
    • An apocalyptic story of three wars in three film tales encompassing the end of the WWI,WWII, as well as a vision of the world destroyed by nuclear weapons. This film was honored at the film festivals in Venice and Sorrento. Immediately after that the copy with Italian subtitles was locked in a safe as evidence of the anti-communist activities of the director, who used real footage of the Soviet invasion. J.Jakubisko: “The only film I couldn’t make any better.”
Interesting facts about this triptych is,that no one will see in the experimental colors as it has been made originally. Because of the spring Russian invasion the negative was stolen by heads of totalitarian regim, hiding it as convincing evidence for the forthcoming political process with the artists. Today's copy is only existing thanks to Columbia Pictures, it was basically smuggled to Italy and made there. Another paradox of the film is a fact that in Russian dubbed version which can be downloaded on the Internet," surprisingly "missing a short sequence of occupation of Czechoslovakia in 1968, even after a long time has passed.
