    • Synopsis
    • After interviewing a koala expert at a zoo, Jordan and her cameraman, Steve, decide to go to a scientific koala research site deep in the Australian bush to do a news story on diseases that are wiping out the koala population. They are unaware that the scientists have been killed.

Meanwhile a young group of campers drive out to a campsite not far from the koala research site. Jay and Ming have promised tourists, Emma, Hanna and Dave a genuine Australian bush experience. However an older couple, Rory and Kerryn, have already set up camp there and are not welcoming to the younger campers.

After the two camping groups clash over the use of recreational drugs, Rory decides to report their actions to the property owner the next day while most of the young campers go swimming. When Rory finds the property owner has been killed by some kind of creature he tasks his wife and Ming with packing up the camp while he finds the rest who went swimming to warn them of the danger. At the swimming location, they run into Jordan and Steve who found slaughtered remains of scientists at the koala research site.

When Rory returns to the campsite with Jordan, Steve and the rest of the young campers, he learns his wife was attacked by a creature while Ming was stoned. Rory leaves to find her. With Jay’s vehicle out of action, the rest of the group decide to spend the night at the campsite and leave in Jordan’s vehicle the next day when there is sunlight.

After unsuccessfully searching for his wife, Rory returns to the campsite as Hanna is killed by a creature. One by one, the group falls victim to the ferocious monsters that are revealed in a video diary belonging to a dead scientist to be carnivorous koalas: AKA drop bears.

When the sun rises the following morning, only Emma and Jay remain. Without Jordan or Steve to guide them to their vehicle and without Rory’s car keys, they head to the property owner’s house in the hope there is a functioning vehicle there. With a swarm of drop bears hot on their trails, Emma betrays Jay so she can buy herself time to escape.

After finding car keys on the property owner’s corpse, Emma leaves the property in a vehicle while Jay is eaten by the drop bears. However her victory is short-lived when she is killed by a drop bear hiding in the back of the car.
