At a small-town bar a strange man offers another man a very strange deal: A million dollars in exchange of living ten years of his life in subjective time again, starting on the date that he choses. “Tomorrow, at around 3 PM, you and your wife will meet at this same bar. At some point, you will say to her: `Darling, I´m going to get cigarettes, I’ll be right back.´You will indeed come back in 5 minutes, but in between you have lived 10 years of your life in subjective time. You will be young again, without having lost the experiences and knowledge accumulated until now. Once you have passed the challenge, you will go back to her with the cigarettes and 1 million dollars in cash.´ This is how Ernesto Zambrana, a 60 years old and grey character from a small town in Argentina, he embarks without measuring the consequences on an extraordinary journey that no matter what the results are, it will change his life forever (or irreversibly). In a vernacular and delirious version of Faust, an eccentric and esoteric Mefistófeles proposes a mediocre and frustrated individual the possibility to revisit key moments of his existence. Ernesto goes back to live parts of his youth while trying not to repeat errors and to take advantage of the fortune that it entails coming back from the futre and having the knowledge of events that have not ocurred yet. Ernesto will travel in time and he will use those years to live new experiences without leaving out of his mind the prize that he will receive at the end of the deal. This is his chance to stand out, to take revenge on old enemies, to change, though in subjective time, the path of his life and to draw a new horizon. In the tour through his past, Ernesto will pretend to “create” in his small town Big Brother for the first time in the World; he will try to fix the relationship with his mother; he will foretell catastrophes and future events; he will take vengeance on an old girlfriend, and he will even present as his own a song that has not been edited by John Lennon, in order to become a rockstar. Our character will have 10 years to think, to relive and maybe to correct attitudes and decisions that led him to his sorrowful reality, eager to demonstrate to others and to himself that if he ended up having a grey life, it was because of lack of opportunities and bad luck. The film sets out as the story develops essential questions about the human condition. Beyond any speculation, the truth is that no one can be left unharmed out of this experience.
