    • Synopsis
    • Dan Aykroyd's fascination with the paranormal comes as no surprise to his fans. It inspired him to write and act in the Ghostbusters films and more recently, to host PSI Factor: Chronicles of the Paranormal. But now he puts fiction and comedy aside, revealing his extensive research and vast knowledge of UFOs, Conspiracy Theory, Extraterrestrials and Quantum Physics - Unplugged.
Aykroyd describes the UFO phenomenon as an undisputable reality, citing copious evidence for their existence, and revisiting some of the best and less known paranormal events of our time (including his own personal encounter). When asked by Director David Sereda who he would have lunch with if he could travel through time in a UFO, he names some of the greatest physicists of the past century: Richard Feynman, Albert Einstein, Max Planck and Niels Bohr. Says Aykroyd, “those guys know what is really going on in the universe.”
While the UFO phenomenon is widely discounted in mainstream science, the US government keeps tightly guarded intelligence on cases and sightings. Aykroyd suggests that their secrecy is hypocritical because they attempt to ease public fears while conducting high level research into the potential threat posed by UFO’s and extraterrestrials. Is it time for the military to implement a Star Wars laser defense system to defend Earth?
Countering common media stereotypes and misconceptions, Aykroyd also presents the possibility that UFOs are benign. If this is the case, what can we on Earth learn from beings who are so far advanced? As our understanding of science progresses, we continually revert to the most ancient questions of human origin. How did we get here? Who or what created us? Where are we going? UFOs are just the tip of a giant iceberg, relating to our position in the world, the universe at large, and the possibility of the extraterrestrial presence.
Aykroyd has a doctorate in literature, and is well-studied in astronomy and world issues including ecology, war, national defense, and politics.
