    • Synopsis
    • On May 2, 2019, the world honored the day, 500 years ago, when Leonardo da Vinci died. White Fox and Cosmote Tv present the story of one of the greatest minds in history and the considerable influence of ancient Greek culture in his works. An artist, scientist, engineer, anatomist, geologist, visionary, a genius and above all, a true Homo Universalis.

A challenging aspect of this multifaceted personality is its relationship to Greek thought, although Da Vinci didn't have Greek education, he was familiar with Greek mythology, mechanics, medicine, anatomy, architecture, philosophy, a fact that it is reflected in his works.

The documentary will follow precisely this aspect of his life, highlighting his relationship with Archimedes' thought, e.g. the construction of "Architmnito", the influences that he received from Greek doctors and anatomists, especially Galen, his relationship with Greek mythology, e.g. Leda and Kyknos, the influence of the Mechanical Epimachus of Athenaeum, the Antikythera Mechanism, the Vitruvian Man and the theories of Plato and Pythagoras, the topographical methods of Eratosthenes, the construction of many other works such as floating bridges, odometers, lifting machines and more.

The documentary will travel to (Milan, Venice, Florence, Vinci, Rome) France, Greece, Oxford, will read his manuscripts and will wander in his Greek library, will visit exhibitions and museums devoted to his works. At the same time, art historians, architects, doctors and academics will cover aspects of his diverse personality. Amongst them Theodosis Tassios, Prof. Emer. National Technical University of Athens and Martin Kemp, Emeritus Professor of the History of Art, Oxford University World-renowned authority on Leonardo da Vinci.
