    • Synopsis
    • Igor, Tatyana, Nikolayevich and Frank are inhabitants of a small coal mine town in eastern Ukraine, who were not to be found on the Maidan.
This town "Dobropolje" once was known as the "Pearl of Donbass" and entered at that time as the smallest city in the world with its own trolleybus line in the Guinness Book of World Records. Today it shows a less glorious image. Weeds are growing on the old Soviet posters. Colliery workers buy the lights for the helmets themselves, and the trolleybus was scrapped by the city administration just recently. Igor is a young mine worker but wants to become a heavy metal star, Tatyana matches the widows of the mine workers who died in the mine with bachelors and Nikolayevich prepares everything for the arrival of the crocodile in his little zoo. Frank is the African taxi driver and the omniscient observer.
While the people in Kiew get up for a Western European future of their country, time seems to stand still here. Residents stay here rather quiet - so far. But the distemper has now also reached the little town in the east. Also here people now demonstrate. Yanukovych is yesterday's news, the lives of our protagonists is shaken and influenced by the political situation.
Since it is about the redesign of the country, people awakened again from a long lethargy. What exactly does that mean and where it will go for our protagonists in Dobropolje and what the future might look like, will be seen in the film.
The film is a humoristic portrait of a society in a grave situation.
In two years of researching and continuous visits the filmmakers built up a close relationship to their protagonists.
