- Synopsis
- Florence, Hubert and André meet up for a round of golf on a warm summer day. The first two are lovers, the third is a close friend and business partner of Hubert, they’re all looking forward to a relaxing and uneventful afternoon. Things do start off smoothly, but then a curiously insistent lone player shows up and joins the trio. Michel seems affable enough, and the atmosphere is cordial at first, but what began as a chance encounter will soon reveal itself to have much deeper roots. Michel believes he has been wronged by the others in the past and has come to settle the score. Thus a friendly game of golf devolves into a confrontation, fueled by the lust for revenge on one side and by the need to preserve an edifice of lies on the other. With virtue nowhere in sight, Cheaters is a satire, a (somewhat) light-hearted break from the pressures of our very ethically conscious times.
