    • Movie lovers get ready for a wild ride and a new take on an old favorite. The great American Western is about to get a remake by a filmmaker passionate about horses, film and Westerns.

Set in 1880, Cataract Gold is the story of two sisters whose widowed father is killed for a map he made while traveling the Colorado River with John Wesley Powell on his expedition in 1869 to map the Green and Colorado Rivers for the US Government.

After losing half their men and 2 of the 3 boats, Powell and Clark buried the government gold they had taken to pay for provisions on the trip. Clark sat down and drew a map to lead officials back to the gold and they started the long hike out of the canyon.

Upon Clark's his return he would learn that his beloved wife had died while he was gone and his two daughters were presumed orphans living in the East with relatives. He sent for his girls, settled in Arizona and starting mining for silver.

The Wilcox brothers had something else in mind and killed Jeremiah trying to force him to give them the map he was rumored to still have to the Powell Expedition's gold. Unsuccessful, they would lose one brother and their father in the fight leaving just the oldest brother and the youngest brother to search for the map.

Katie and Beth, the Clark sisters, would find their father dead and a map in the shattered frame of their mother's picture at their father's campsite at the mine. Not knowing what the map lead to, instinctively they knew it must have been important to their father, and Beth demanded that they follow the map to find out what it lead to. Reluctantly Zach, Beth's boyfriend and Katie agree to go on the dangerous journey.

Meanwhile the Wilcox brothers, watching the girls and determined to find the gold would follow them across two states creating a tense and suspenseful drama that would end when the two parties converge to find the gold and fight to claim it once and for all.

Part history, part drama and suspense with a good old fashioned love story and a full dose of gun fights and killing, Cataract Gold is an epic film sure to make critics and movie goers sit up and take notice.
