    • Synopsis
    • After dedicating half of her life as caregiver to her cat-loving mother, Catherine finds herself purposeless when her mother dies. But after months of living as a depressed, slob the ghost of her mother returns to ask for Catherine’s help in completing an “unfinished business”: have her ashes scattered over Cat Island, Japan.

Catherine travels to Japan and completes her mission. But as soon as she completes it, her feelings of emptiness return. To make matters worse, she gets stuck in the island due to a violent storm. Missing her flight back, and with her visa having already expired, Catherine would soon become “contentedly-resigned” to spending the rest of her life in Cat Island.

One day, Catherine gets a hold of a cat-zine where she sees pictures of shelter cats on death row. For the first time since her mother’s death, Catherine finds a deep sense of purpose. But saving the cats becomes difficult with her overstaying passport and becoming branded as the “crazy cat foreigner” of the island.

As she’s about to get deported, Catherine turns to the internet for one last cry for help. Before she knows it, the world has come to her and the cats’ rescue.
