- Based on the true story of the ship that responded to Titanic’s distress call and sailed through iceberg-filled waters to successfully rescue over 700 people, CARPATHIA is a historical drama with thriller elements—an exciting saga of bravery and madness in a real-life rescue mission.
  Caught in this dramatic moment are our main characters, passengers aboard the Carpathia, a ship that connected Europe and America in 1912: FRANCO, a member of the infamous New York Gandolfini crime family, carrying money to support his relatives in Italy’s war against the Ottoman Empire; MARY, a married Croatian woman returning from New York, seeking the adventure of a lifetime in the few days of freedom within the isolated micro-world of the ship; and EDGAR, a New York police officer investigating a corruption scandal involving Franco’s family.
  Alongside them are real historical figures who make up Carpathia's crew, such as Captain Rostron, telegraph operator Harold, and the ship’s officers—key players in the daring rescue of Titanic’s survivors.
