    • Synopsis
    • On February 17th of 2011, the first images of civil upheaval in Libya travelled the world. After 42 years under Gaddafi’s rule, the country was divided between forces loyal to the Regime and an improvised opposition army. The media showed combatants fighting under NATO bombardments. But what went on beyond the media-hyped war?
This documentary is a journey through Benghazi, the bastion of this revolution, heart of the unarmed struggle. It unveils a revolution of ideas. Heroes like Mohammad Al-Nabbous, whose was killed transmitting live, inspired efforts such as Radio Hope Libya, where young rappers offered morale to combatants. Artists expressed their discontent through art, color and even caricatures. Thousands of Benghazi house makers fed regiments. Even well off professionals volunteered their skills.
